What video codec do CDs use?

Plain CDs can mainly hold MPEG-1 stream (VideoCDs) but if you do mean that the music video is watched via computer, it can be of any format or codec. Check the root of the CD. If there's a file named AVSEQ (or similar), it's pure MPEG1 video and you can rename it so there you have your lossless rip.

Are you talking about Video CD or about some bonus video tracks which can be found on some Audio CD's??

Either way, in both caces sound and video quality are inferior there...

It's an audio CD that has a music video on it and I know videos on CD are not the best but that's all I can find.

Thanks for the info progo. I don't want to increase the filesize by trying to use a better video codec than it needs.
