USPS will probably take them as well.

I used to think the same way as well, but then I ended up sending packages for one reason or another. I would keep perhaps 1/3 of the packing peanuts just in case you end up having to ship something.

I think it unwise to use packing peanuts to store any electronic component as it may be a ESD hazard.
