I have a 30GB 3 Gen iPod that I don't use so much anymore. What are my best options for doing something useful with it (other than giving it to you)?

Sell it for cash on eBay? Is there a market for older model iPods?

Are there any stores with good trade-in policies for getting something new?

do you have a family member you can sell it to for like 60 bucks?

YUP,value of ipods doesn;t hold up that much especially if it's an older model. giving it to a fam member is the best option. so your lost would be their gain.

(but it's not as good as giving it to me) lol

If there's a Tweeter nearby you can give it to them for store credit. You can go to there site and plug in what you have and it'll calculate how much they would give you. I have an old 3rd gen myself and the unit with a dock connector gets me a $63 store credit. Not bad.

Exactly. Should be about the most portable 30GB hard drive you can find.

Find a family member of whom you like, buy a pair of AKG K81DJ headphones and give it to him (or her) as a gift. Be sure you load it with at least some music they like ripped to Apple Lossless , WAV or AIFF. Then sit back and watch them smile as they realize how good their music can sound out of an iPod.

My sister has a a 3rd gen that gets little use anymore (she prefers the Mini).

She didn't want it to go to waste so she invested in a cheap alarm-clock speaker dock setup for it (something like $40 or less), and uses it as her alarm in the dorms.
