What size are the HD380's audio plug? Not 3.5".

I was getting a bit tired of the coiled cable on the Sennheiser HD 380's, so decided to try using a standard 3.5" cable that came with the Fiio E5's and it doesn't seem to feet. The actual cable seems to be even smaller and I can't figure out what size or how to replace the cable. I don't even think it's a 2.5", as the iPhone uses that, and the Sennheiser cable too loose to even fit on the iPhone.

What am I going to need?

When I had the HD380s, I tried them with a friend's iphone and the plug fit perfectly. It is definitely a standard size (and called out as 3.5mm on the product spec sheet.)
Not sure what the issue is with yours. Maybe it is a lemon and out of tolerance?

If you are talking about the special mini-plug that goes into the headphones themselves - I'm pretty certain it's a 2.5mm mini-jack.

2.5"? Sounds good, I'll purchase a converter soon.
