I know this is a noob question but what settings do I put the O2+ODAC? Theres 7 ticks that follow the volume knob as it turns from right to left, and a gain button. Do I turn the gain/volume on max settings or minimal and why? How can I utilize this combo for the best most neutral sound? (Im mixing)

Max out the volume settings (like 75%-100%) on the source (computer?).
(turn down the volume setting way down on the O2 before maxing volume setting on source)

Gain setting on the O2?
Not that big a deal, but as the 62-Ohm AKG K7XX is somewhat power hungry, set to high gain?

From John Seaber at JDS Labs:

It's always best to use the lowest gain necessary. Doing so ensures the best possible noise floor. Setting higher gain and lower volume will unnecessary increase background noise.

In other words, only switch to high gain when you're unable to reach desired volume at low gain.

Best regards,

John Seaber

Hope this helps.
