To preface, I'm running an xDuoo TA-26s with a Geshelli Labs Jnog2 DAC which is connected to my work laptop in my office space. I've been having issues for a while where I hear this low electrical static noise through my headphones.

I know the headphones and cable aren't the issue. Thought tubes were messed up, did a swap but that wasn't the issue. Then I checked my RCA cables, not the issue either. Unplugged the USB cable and it got dead quiet, which lead me to believe that either my USB cable or DAC was the issue for a moment, but as I was plugging and unplugging things during this diagnosis process, I found out that when I unplugged the charging cable connected to my laptop, it also became dead quiet.

Knowing that my laptop being connected to its charging cable is the cause, is there some product/item that could remedy this issue? I've read about USB grounding dongles, if that is what they are called, and power conditioners like the audioquest powerquest product line, but I don't want to buy something that I'm not 100% sure if it will solve my issue.

I appreciate any help.

If it's the laptop power brick, an extension cord for the charger to plug into a different outlet on a separate circuit. If the charging brick doesn't have a ground wire, it could be the easiest depending where a different plug is located.

I have a similar issue, but with a phone charger. I simply plug the charger into a different outlet. If that’s not an option (e.g., no closer outlet available), you can try the iFi DC Blocker. I recommend buying it from Amazon or a similar vendor that offers free returns in case it doesn’t work as intended.
