It bothers me that most HPs i like for portable/in home use have Y type, non-detachable cables...

are there ANY decent semi-closed/closed HPs around $100 that have detachable Y type or non-detachable 1-sided cables ??

(1 sided AND detachable is probably prefect, but i doubt there's such a HP that's around $100)

The new Sennheiser PX's have a one sided cable.

The only portable that I can think of that has detachable cables is the AKG K181DJ but that's $150.

A simple recable can solve these problems

Thanks for the responses.

I am relatively new to HPs, so I will probably be scared to try a recabling...
...unless there's an expert from this forum in Raleigh, NC area...

Single-sided detachable: Equation Rp-21 / RP-15 / EP3070
Single-sided & portable: Panasonic RP-HTX7, Philips SHP5400, Sennheiser PX100-II / PX200-II / HD238 / HD228 / HD218
Single-sided & arguably portable: Ultrasone HFI450, Yamaha RH10MS, Audio-Technica ATH-M30 / ATH-M50 / ATH PRO5MS

imo, I'd rather deal with a two sided cable than SQ I don't like. Just a thought. But yes, I think you're right in asking... I think the Senn HD465 is out of production, that was inexpensive and had a detachable cable on one side. edit - nvm, I only see them $185 these days >.< ... but there's a HD485 for $95 What... Not very portable, but nice cans nevertheless.
