I don't buy into how people are against "ipods" as if it's an adjective - forgetting that it's a noun. It's a thing, more specifically, a dap. What's not to understand about that? It's a dap that does what daps do, one of many brands to choose from. There's nothing to get or not get about that, especially on an audio forum. Why stress about the chosen tool people use to carry tunes? Sheesh.

There's more to the iPod than just a DAP. To me it promotes the whole consumer brainwash idea where they want to get a product just because it is "cool" or "in." I see this all the time at school and it bugs me; it just reminds me of popularism and buying things only because the market/"popular people" say it's the thing to have. To me it also supports the whole low-fi idea (Yes, I realize that the iPod isn't a crappy DAC and that many people use it in their rigs here), the whole MP3 craze, if you will ("High quality MP3 sound!!!!" idea).
