A friend of mine here in Perth Australia just built me a beautiful Oatley valve amp.  This is the Oatley K232 valve amp with the 2 pentodes, uses 2xAA's to power the valves and a 9V to run the amp itself.

Sorry I am new to valve amps myself, though I've heard of them and seem them and listened to them but never really actually onwed one.

Now what I was planning to do in the future was to try a new opamp for this new Oatley K232 valve amp of mine.

So would like some feedback for those who have built this amp and what Opamp did you experiment or upgrade to.

I was considering probably the OPA 627.

Do you mean the K272A ?

The op amp in that amplifier is being used as an output buffer.
I would think that the NJM4556 would be a good place to start
for that role.
