Stunning headphone.
My use case is for mixing and mastering on the road and in hotel rooms. (will be spending most of the next two years on the road).
Two issues with the he1000v2 - bit of a spike at 9k, and too much sparkle above 12k. Just a smidge but enough to be at issue. Tad lack of mids at 2k ish.
Need a wee bit more low end. +2db shelf at 160hz.
so +4db around 2.5k
- 3db @9k
-3db HS@11k
That puts them really close to my monitors (Kii3). Really really good.
I'm fine with eq'ing while working but I want and need to live with these things on my head and so I need a consistant reference when listening outside my DAW(protools, cubase,logic etc). Just plug in and spend time on spotify, tidal, etc -
What phones should I look towards next (can't justify spending much more money than these though).??
Or possible tweaks or different pads?
