Trekstor vibez.
Sound: Overrated. Good, but not among the best. Especially as the same electrical problem present in the Karma (HDD sound leaks into phones) represents itself on the Vibez.
Format compatibility: Quite buggy. Especially FLAC. Not in terms of support but in terms of dropouts.
Features: Lost the playlisting that was a standout on the Karma. DJ features still good, but other players offer similar. Self-databasing is still a hit, but once again this is no longer unique. EQ is no longer a total standout when compared to some other players and is buggy, limiting the absolute usefulness of the parametric controls. Simply put by staying pretty static to the Karma, the Vibez no longer enjoys the edge that the Karma had.
Ease of use: Essentially easy to use, but controls have acquired a slightly counterintuitive bent since switching from the separated wheel/stick of the Karma to the integrated wheel/stick of the Vibez. Current version seems to have a problem where it turns off when in a pocket when controls are put on Hold.
Build quality: Indifferent.
Just generally, it's not a bad player, in fact it's a good player but it doesn't deserve the hype being spun around it by the likes of dapreview, and it is not quite fully usably bug-free. I'm offloading it to a friend.
One player I should regret buying because of Chronicstage software but really like is the Sony NW-A80x. I think it's the first Sony player (hardware) that I've felt is notably superior to what else is out there in quite a long time. No radio or recording, but it's a great machine. Chronicstage just messes up it's game so much though that it is very annoying.
