What medications do you take, and for what?

Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and Loratadine for allergies. If i wernt alergic to sulfer drugs I would take claritin-D which contains Loratidine and pseudoephedrine sulfate. I am looking for any reccomendatinos for allergies as I am still always congested but I breathe better on the medication I am taking. I heard there is an over the counter nasal spray that works great as a decongestant but I can not remember what it was.

I recommend talking to your PCP or allergist about getting on a steroid nasal spray. That, and shots if you're not already on them.

I have been on shots for 3 years, and most of my symptoms had gotten much better, save the congestion. It was not until I started the steroid spray that it started getting better.

If you get on it, make sure to use it every day, even when you don't have any symptoms!

Me, the only prescription I'm on is Concerta for my mild ADD. I take it only when needed.

I take 2.5mg of Abilify (aripiprazole) daily for my bipolar disorder. This is a quarter of a standard dose. I am taking so little to avoid the potential side-effects of keeping too even of a balance on my brain chemistry - that is, causing depression, a feeling of dullness, lack of creativity, etc. but on the other hand a little bit might be enough to prevent a serious psychotic episode...

But the main medical treatment I use for my bipolar (ADHD and insomnia also) I would rather not discuss here since it is a controversial form of therapy.

I take Albutero when my lungs decide to constrict, blocking airflow (asthma).

Out of curiosity, what medications do some of you guys take, for what conditions, and what are the side-effects, if any?

I am a chronic migraine sufferer, and I've been on about every med on the books for migraines, and now they are starting to try new things again. Right now I'm on Topamax (topiramate), which is an anti-seizure med. Most notably, I get tingling sensations in both hands, concentrated in the index and middle fingers. Only once or twice have I had any adverse psycological reactions, ie: several minutes of delirium including hallucinations and an absent seizure, but I believe that is attributed to forgetting a dose of the Topamax (which *can* cause a seizure) acute caffeine withdrawls, and sleep deprivation.

I guess you could add caffeine to the list as well. I injest roughly 1200mg of caffeine daily, or close to 12 cups of strong espresso.

Anyone else want to share?

I feel for you..I used to get migraines. However, I really only got the aura and only would experience just mild head pain. It was still pretty bad though: as soon as I got a blank spot, I knew in a couple hours I would be throwing up for eight hours. And, when I first started getting them, I would have speech problems as an aura symptom (and numbness and a funky hangover the day after). I remember it was freshman year of high school and, after getting a blind spot, I called my step-mom to pick me up from school...I was waiting and there was this plaque on the wall that said something like "Extending a tradition of excellence into the 21st century." I remember trying to read it and my speech came out like "exddojing an frundut of adnert speev nuthel" or something. I thought I was going crazy!

Anyway, I think I grew out of mine, as they became less frequent and less severe. (Haven't had one in like a year and it was very mild, just the blank spot)

I'm telling you this hoping there's some prognosis for you that you will grow out of them. Also, what about that new magnetic treatment?

Good luck

One of my favorite movies for sure(never read the book)!

"“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
