He has a doctorate in Nano-Technologies and I foresee this to be the shortest thread on Head-fi

I believe it is PhD in chemistry.

I read it in stereophile or Inner fidelity that it was Nanotechnology, anyway here is proof.

Not to drill too much into this, but CUNY doesn't actually offer any degree under 'nanotech' that I know of. However, nanotech can be an sub-category of bio tech, bio chem, chem, engineering as well as physics. So I assume Fang's PhD is chemistry that related to nano-tech (*I actually once got a PhD offer in similar field in the past). So there is no conflict be both a PhD in chemistry and an expert in nano-tech at the same time, if his study of chemistry is nanotech in nature.

Anyway, my reference comes from an interview Fang had done on a Chinese magazine a few months ago.

Yup, it's a PhD in chemistry, at least that's what he told me. He first went the Boston University (it was a cool common point between us), but he hated it (and especially disliked one of the professors here, which I can understand since I've had him for two semesters and I've heard he's downright obnoxious to TAs, of which Fang was) and went to CUNY for chem with a focus on nanotech.
