They are very cool and I like the idea. I don't like the fact that the dock connector is the only thing holding it... Seems like a dangerous thing.

Stock buds I am assuming, and 40 dollars? Gosh Apple just makes it obvious that they love overpricing.

I dunno, I still want them kind of... I am brainwashed!!!

Actually, I think Apple's is given a hard time on the stock iPod buds.
They're not worth $40,- , but Apple is hardly the only company charging that much for mediocre earbuds (here in Germany at least...).
They sound better than most low-end earbuds I've heard...

On-Topic: Don't worry about the lanyard design: We have to wear the nano around our necks at work, and despite occasionally getting caught on things, the nano's never fallen or come off...
