Stax Omega 2

No headphone upgrade for the long long future, but working on my collection of old obscure vintage headphones and source upgrades instead.

Latest addition to the team is an HP-100.

I have been planning to buy Grado's for awhile, but have had trouble making a decision on which model.

I have also been drooling over the E500 since first reviewed by the lucky head-fiers who have heard them.

Having grown impatient with the delayed release of the E500, I tossed reason to the wind and ordered the GS 1000's last night.

Standstill at the moment.. i'd like something more bassy and with as well 'breathing' sound & good soundstaging as these (i think that rules out the HD485?) so maybe HD650s someday, but those have the problem that they need an amp, and im too cheap for that

Also i might find their highs quite boring at first as im used to this √-curve, but they'd be sooo relaxing

Well, maybe not in the comfort department?

I still can't decide between the K 501s, K 701s, or DT 880s, but I always seem to return to the K 701s as my choice after I do more research, so I'll probably get those. However, the best thing I could do is stick with what I have - the SR225s sound great to me with all kinds of music, even classical, and I don't suffer from listening fatigue or any discomfort with them.

Only possibilities are HP2 or HE90. But I'm not holding my breath for those so I will be tweaking the rest of my system.

I can find no fault with my HD650's and will not upgrade ontil Sennheiser comes out with a replacement.

I don't really have a main headphone but if I had to choose that would probably be the Headphiled K-340s and I won't be getting rid of those when I get my next set of headphones. My next set will either be the Grado PS-1, HP-2 or the Sony MDR-R10. Not sure which way I want to go yet.

I too don't have a main set of cans that I stick with as I rotate between several pairs depending on my mood. More often then not for home listening I go to my CD3000s. Next headphone upgrade within the next few months would be to get my HF-1s Headphile modded.

Probably a new set of IEM's, either between the Altec IM716 or Shure E4c.

Can't really say when...cause cash is a little low.

I still love my DT880s after six months or whatever it's been now. So I won't (prayer) upgrade 'til my DT880s fall apart.

Next: The money is burning a hole in my wallet, so I've been actively researching whether to upgrade in the Senn line (HD650), whether to get the next step up in another sonic light (DT880), or whether to jump in the middle (K701).

Today, I have made up my mind at least 4 times. But I can't remember what I decided on, so I'll start over tomorrow.

I'm in the process upgrading from SR-225's to AKG K340's. After I receive the K340's, I think I will be sending them to headphile to get some mods done.

well... probably not an upgrade... since i've just been a recent head-fi'er... already got a pair of earbuds (Sennheiser MX400), open cans (Altec Lansing iM302WHT) and full-sized cans (Audio-Technica ATH-T22). i'm planning to buy canalphones/IEM's next. probably the Philips SHE9500 because it's the cheapest i've seen in my area. the iM716's are too expensive here; they go for at US$115. would anyone recommend the SHE9500?
