PayPal offers buyers an expedient way to pay for, and there by receive a purchased item quicker. No one forces anyone to use PayPal. A buyer can send a personal check or money order, and sit tight while the promissory notes clear before items are shipped, or he can use PayPal as a convenient method to handle the payment transaction. A seller does not have to offer PayPal to buyers, and when it is provided the convenience is a two way street. Both buyer and seller benefit for the small transaction fee or e-check fee. Don't think for a minute that retail businesses absorb credit card fees, either. They are built (hidden) into the price of products. Sure, a seller can include the PayPal fee in his price, but then it becomes an increased cost for anyone wanting to pay by check or money order. PayPal is just a purchasing option. You don't have to use it.
