If you're a beginner at cooking, like I am, that would be the called the all-in-one pan scraping, fly swatting, hand smacking, sloppy straining, thingamajigger

In England we'd call it a fish slice. It's for turning delicate foods over.. predominantly fish.

turner - Bed Bath & Beyond

Almost every time I go into a store I see them in the cooking utensil aisle labeled as a spatula. I go into a Home Improvement store, and I see them labeled as spatulas. Why can't both items for different tasks be called a spatula?

I grew up calling them spatulas and they will forever be spatulas to me.

There is a limit to how much any one person(s) can do. Are we all expected to drop everything we are doing to help others whenever some calamity happens anywhere in the world?

My thoughts exactly. We should be worrying about recovering our economy and domestic affairs before throwing money out of the country for no return.

Send Haiti a few spatulas if you feel bad.
