What is the most effective solution and highest NRR item to block out 'sharp' sounds, in 2017?

No, I know that's a no-no, only had anecdotal evidence from a friend who uses them shooting. They're one of the few easy use IEMs with a decent NRR rating that I know of.
I'm ordering a pair for motorcycle use, because they'll fit in a helmet. Edited: because wireless which was also mentioned.
