most people dont want to brag about this kind of stuff because it will make selling those items much harder

So, your father was not involved! Sounds like a dead beat dad!

J/k of course.

Sometimes people give me things. My boss gave me my first ipod as a surprise then paid for a microamp and Etys. About a year and a half ago, someone gave me HD580s. Last June, friends gave me a mint pair of K340s, still in the box with plastic protectors on the pads. I also have a couple Cardas power cords and one PS Audio power cord "on indefinite loan." I tried to pay for them (and will try again), but he wouldn't accept. I know I'm pretty lucky, and free is a pretty good deal.

Buying a pair of new HD650 for 25€(30$).

And then buying 10 HD650 for 1400€(1800$) and that makes 180$ each.

After that, DIY is the best audio deal you will ever find...

Wow, sounds as if these HD650s might have "fallen off of a truck" at the airport?

My second pair of "high-end" loudspeakers. The first was a pair of B&W 604 S1 which were good value for money, but nothing out-of-this-world. The second though...I landed upon a set of mint B&W Matrix 801 S3's from an elderly man who was emigrating and thus selling equipment at very low prices. I got that pair for the equivalent of around $500.

Brand new pair of AKG K1000s for $600, just weeks before they were discontinued. I wish I bought 3 pairs at that time. I know a few Head-Fiers scored a pair of K1000s for like $350 from TTVJ

- but they probably aren't going to fess up.

Also, another Head-Fier (that I will not name) scored a pair of HP-2s for some retardedly low price - maybe $150ish bucks if I recall properly.
