Hi.

I have a question. What is the best bright sounding headphone out here? I like sparkly treble, and bright headphones overall. Really clear sound is what I am looking for. I have had the AKG K550, and the Shure SRH840. But the SRH840 is not what I call bright. I did not like the sound.

The headphones needs to be closed, isolate well, and be driven quite easily. BUT; I have a Sennheiser HD 380 which I can use for portable use. That thing can not be broken down anyway I try. So if you have a recommendation which encompasses an open headphone or a semi-open headphone, be my guest!

Thanks!

Alright, and could you elaborate? The headphone seems quite flimsy, from what I see from the photo's.

EDIT: And how do these compare to the AKG K550 or the newer AKG K545?

Thanks for the recommendation. I had a HP150, but returned it. The left ear driver wasn't working. And I decided I just ditched the headphone. It had happen like 2 times already in a short time.

Audio Technica M70X seems to be bright can per reviews by Tyll.
Shure SRH 940 is very bright too & my fav. closed can.

You could also look at Sony MDR SA5000, used. They are the fastest dynamic cans I have heard and bright.

Ayaflo, thanks for your input! SRH 940 seems to sound really good. I tried it, and loved it. I disliked the comfort though, and they seem to break quite easily. Which headphone would be as good or better than the 940 as by detail and brightness?

But I can't find that SA5000 anywhere.

I think the SRH 940 is the brightest i have heard. I do not understand why you need a bright sound? I hope you mean to say treble emphasis or mostly analytical.

I love the SA5k. They have great detail, a bit better than Shure SRH 940 and they scale considerably. You should try e-bay.

The DT 880 Pro also have a bright signature but they are open back.

On the other hand, I am a treble head as well and would request you to check out some in-ear monitors in this price range. Some BA monitors have excellent sound.

Sorry for taking the thread off-topic but I'm supposing it might be in the best interest of OP.
