@jonathan c I have 433 and thinking to get Nitsch. How do they compare? My favourite two do have a name:![]()
Sonically, they are very similar. Nitsch has a slightly lower 'noise floor', is somewhat closer to vantablack background, has slightly greater dynamics. Make no mistake: both are superb and are wonderful alternate h/p/a when the tube counterparts are 'on break'. Both are 'pure': not in an antiseptic, clinical sense -- but in their service to, their delivery of music.@jonathan c I have 433 and thinking to get Nitsch. How do they compare?

I don’t know why and don’t want to be rude but the Asgard2 is the worst sounding amp I have ever used. It sounds like a bloated and hazy mess paired with my LCD2 rev2. The original Asgard 1 sounds ok due to its mellowness and openess. The Asgard 2 ruins all of those characters.Asgard 2 has been out of production for a while, and the Mjolnir 3 production is supposed to end mid this year (according to Jason). I have seen comparisons made between the Asgard 2 and the Mjolnir 3 due to them both being Class A amps. The Asgard 3 being in Class AB past 500mw is probably part of the reason for the large difference in sound. Unfortunately I never got to hear the Asgard 2, but I am glad I go the Mjolnir 3 (hopefully you get the opportunity to demo one).![]()
