** what is just the right amount of weirdness? and what is weirdness? …

For example: the weirdly flat and compressed sounding from most Schiit ss amps and the hazy soft weirdness from some cheap tube amps. I am willing to keep an amp with no critical aspect in sound quality rather than one with a few very good things and one too bad aspect

Schiit is fine, but over never heard a product from them that really wowed me. Seem to be well built, sound good, and simple. There is some level of value in that. Most of their efforts seem to be in the low to mid fi range. Great value products for sure.
