you get a big enough headphone, like the HD201

and put two drivers a cup, like the KSC75 and the K518

will you get the bass of the AKG and the grado like sound of the koss?

the idea of several drivers per earphone usualy comes from armatures which have mecanical limitation towards the frequency ranges they can reproduce, so several armatures are stacked and balanced to complement the frequency range to give a complete reproduction,

but dynamic drivers are usualy more then able to reproduce full frequency ranges and therefore stacking them or using multiple driver configurations is usless and usualy used as a cheap gimmik for low quality headphone manufacturers for those 5.1 headphone sets, which still get a whooping from any headphone with decent binaural reproduction capability,

but then when the bass gets too deep the drivers cant produce the other harmonics

You need to also watch out for the structure and position of the headphone with multiple drivers. If you're not careful, you may end up with frequencies cancelling each other out, cant remember what its called but its when a bump in a wave meets a dip in a wave and they cancel each other out.

But... It wont produce the desired result in your post. The positioning and whatnot will change the observed frequency response of the headphone, also the structure of the headphone too will distort it further.

This is what i think :p -- pretty sure most of it is fact?
