Microsoft's Surface Headphones have a feature that they refer to as "adjustable active noise cancellation", and what the user can adjust is active noise cancellation, from full-on on one extreme, to AMPLIFYING the sound that is around the user at the other extreme, and everything in-between. I know that there are headsets that have noise cancellation. I'd like to know if there are any headsets besides Microsoft's that have passive and/or active noise cancellation and can also AMPLIFY environmental sound with an adjustable control so that while I'm using them (listening to music, watching YouTube videos, etc.) I can also hear what's going on around me without taking them off, and with adjustable control of that amplification, from full-on noise-cancellation to full-on environmental audio amplification.

Regardless of whether they are IEMs, on-ears, or over-ears, I want to know what other headsets that do this exist.

Not only so that I can hear the sound that is around me, but more specifically so that I can engage in brief conversation without taking my headset off.

Apparently, Sony's WF-SP700N headset has a feature that they call "ambient sound mode", but I don't know if it is adjustable.
