Bass is not my main concern as like i said im more of a Rock guy, and i listen to a lot of Jrock (my minor is Japanese) and there doesn't seem to be much base in it. what is a soundstage?

ah so its like 3d for hearing then correct? and yea, while i dont mind bass rock is my preference so mid and high are more important to me

Assuming you need closed headphones that will be unamped--of the cans I have heard, consider the Shure SRH 840 or 440 and Sony MDR-ZX700.

 The Sony MDR-ZX700 is made for listening on a computer or mobile device.
 
The others are often used for the same purpose.  The Shures have replaceable cords.
