As the title states, I wish to try my hand at headphone modding but what should I get? Which has the most modding options, a lot of info available online and affordable base (I was thinking around 100$ to 150$ for the headphones, new or secondhand).
 
Here are the models I was considering:
 
Grado Sr60i
Grado Sr80i
Fostex RP series (20, 40 or 50)

i was just about to post on this forum to ask this same question! well, along with a few other questions so ill still be making another thread.
 
but it seems like im going to be going with the t20rp because ive seen some people post that they have the same drivers as the t50rp. even if they aren't the exact same, i saw frequency response graphs for both and they're pretty similar.
 
idk if you've seen this yet, but http://www.head-fi.org/t/618659/fostex-t50rp-incremental-mods-and-measurements is a thread full of mods for the t50rp and how all these combinations fare in terms of freq response
