10 wires it is.
3 on each signal, 2 on each ground.
There is a mix of silver and copper, stranded and solid core in there.
Is it a sort of crazy, way over the top kind of cable. I had a previous cable that used all of the same material in a 6 strand configuration. The new cable improves the audio channels slightly, but with more focus on sinking for the ground channel.
My ESW9 are using a lighter, or rather regular version. It uses 2 on the signal and 1 on the ground, but the ground material is bigger than the two signal wires combined (only just). It is pretty flexible and relatively thin too using the smallest neutrik mini plug fits perfectly.
The CD1000 cable fits in a standard 3/8" cloth sleeving easily. I used a Vampire plug mainly because I really like them the best and the sleeving is the perfect size.
Trust me when I say that the main amp will be replaced in the not too distant future. Just getting funds. Though once I did some tweaking and rewired the signal paths with a similar cable the amp revealed a bit more detail. Yes, this amp can have a bunch of detail....more than my P-51 hooked up to the same source...along with a more full sound with the current hungry CD1k/3K drivers.
I could do an ultimate cable, but I think that it would be a law of diminishing returns if you went with something more over the top involving cotton insulation....nah
