I love the effect michael angelo uses. It sounds like some kind of synth, distortion. I cant explain it. Anybody knows what he uses to get that tone. I don't like how distortion alone sounds for shredding.

I'm sure he uses different kinds of effects in different recordings, which one are you talking about?

I personally like distortion with some compression thrown in for shredding

I am reffering to what he uses on the solo for freight train, or on no boundaries (speed kills).
When I shred on my acoustic guitar it sounds awesome, and same on my electric. When I use my amps built in distortion it sounds good, but I like batios synthetic sounding effect. I also use a big muff, but don't find it good for shredding as it has that thick sound for pink floys solos.

Is there any specific effent or should I just buy a guitar synth like this one http://www.rolandus.com/products/pro...92&ParentId=53
I don't have much money so I hope there is a cheaper solution.
