when using my audio-technica a900's and an *amp i usually leave my EQ on "normal", but i just now decided to play with the bass/treble boost and the results are phenomenal especially with the bass response. for best results i adjusted the volume on my ihp, along with my amp, to a little over half-way.

*not quite sure what amp i got (bought it from a friend who makes em), but all i know is that it's "far superior to most mint amps" and "comparable to headroom's airhead". i will try to find out asap... and yeah i know it's sad on my part for not asking... i was too busy drooling.

User EQ (for use with ihp's lineout --> amp --> a900's) with:
bass: 12 (if i go higher i get a nice thump, but at the cost of distortion)
treble: 4 (hardly can tell a difference from others...)

good songs to test with:
Moby - Inside
Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy
Clinic - Come Into Our Room
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up
VAST - Pretty When You Cry
Radiohead - Idioteque, Myxomatosis, Like Spinning Plates

so what EQ setting do you use?

I leave it on normal, but sometimes I'll up the bass.

cause my ihp140 is better than the 120
i dunno, pay no mind

actually with that crazy eq, the bass is quite good, i havent heard any distortion either, just good ol fashioned mind flooding bass, plus you can still hear everything else too
