I mean, do you close your eyes? Do you stare into nothingness? Do you imagine things or do you let your mind float freely? What are you thinking? Feeling Are you seated? Standing? Lying down? Lounging? When listening, are you just listening, or are you doing something else at the same time? Do you keep yourself occupied with other things--on the computer, on the phone, on the tablet?

Usually I'm browsing forums or playing games. Sometimes I'll stop everything and sit in silence and darkness for an hour of critical listening, if a good mix or album comes on.

Usually just sit in my darkened listening room and stare off into space.  My mind's eye is active and I can "see" the band playing or some other image associated with the music.  However, recently I've been closing my eyes and listening in that state of isolation.  Sometimes it adds to the enjoyment but sometimes I listen so critically that I don't enjoy the experience as much.

At this point, I do most of my listening at work, with driving in my car second. Having my music playing really helps me get through the work day even when I don't pay the closest attention to it. Sometimes it is a distraction though ;)

I don't listen to music much at home since I got married, my wife's not much of a music fan and she really hates a lot of the music I like.
