What do you do for work and how does it relate to your love for audio?

Ok...something I've always been curious about. What do you do for work and how does it relate to your love for audio? You can be as vague or as specific as you want!

Here's an example (mine!) to kick the thread off:

I'm an independent (not tied to an agency/firm) consultant who's brought on to brands in the high-end consumer industry to helps them figure out the big picture of breaking into communities and building communities of their own, through publicity, social media, and community management.

I studied film production with the intention of working on a set but life had different plans. I found out through a volunteer organization that's basically the other half of my life, that I love talking with people and connecting with them, but I could still apply my growing background in storytelling. Around the same time I started volunteering in those leadership roles that gave me that new career exposure, I was introduced to the world of IEMs by my Godfather @mangus.

@FullCircle and Noble Audio was the first brand I fell in love with, with their K10. I made a pitch to do some social for them, and fell in love with community relations in the process, taking my professionally trained publicity background and combining it with storytelling, my background by education. The rest is history, and since I have had the joy of only growing my experience and clientele in the industry.

Most importantly, it's only grown my passion for the industry as a hobbyist!

For me, growing up, I was usually near audio gear/equipment etc. I was installing car audio before I had a driver's license, & eventually worked at Radio Shack through my high school years.

Then, I continued on to study Audiology, receiving a doctorate degree. I worked in pretty much every area of audiology from balance diagnostics to a surgical coach in the operation room for cochlear implants.

That said, I was always fascinated with the process of building hearing aids, which doesn't differ much from CIEMS. Eventually I began building CIEMS as a hobby. Over time I had some musicians request I build for then. (Thailand didn't have the access to ciems as it does now)

Eventually the hobby morphed into Noble.

I've always loved music and electronics.

I'm an assistant manager of a large rural ranch and home store when I got hired, I was hired to work in the electronics department, and then promoted to department head, and then took over as assistant manager, and kept the electronics department. My hobbies and work just happen to be one and the same.

I am a retired IT professional. Started collecting and building amps at 14 years old.

Now I feel privileged to be able to listen to Tidal for several hours per day (and night).
I enjoy adding to and pruning my many Playlists.
I read most of the Audiophile forums and enjoying contributing when I have something useful to add.
Each year I add components based on my "best value for money" evaluation.
