What Do You Consider to Be a Dongle?

In reading some threads lately where the subject of dongles comes up, I get the impression that some people feel like any portable DAC/amp, self-powered or host-powered, is a dongle. However, I have always thought of dongles as DAC/amps that get their power from the host/source. Therefore I've never considered self-powered DAC/amps as dongle. I curious as to what others think. Do you consider a DAC/amp with it's own battery/power source to be a dongle?

I would agree with you that a dingle should be drawing power from the host. Otherwise I would call other units that are self powered just a Headphone Amp.
