I've been listining to Norah Jones sing "Don't Know Why" by Jesse Harris, but I have no idea what some of the lyrics mean.

Apparently she decided to dump her lover but I don't understand the reference to "house of fun" and "bag of bones".

Any one care to take a shot at it?

I waited 'til I saw the sun
I don't know why I didn't come
I left you by the house of fun
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come

When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand

My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever

Out across the endless sea
I would die in ecstasy
But I'll be a bag of bones
Driving down the road alone

My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever

Something has to make you run
I don't know why I didn't come
I feel as empty as a drum
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come

Maybe the House of fun is like an arcade or boardwalk where they were to meet for a date. She did not show up and was up all night thinking about it. Crying as the sun came up on the beach. Then thinking that she will never find another. Fearing that she will grow old and be alone nothing but a bag of bones as old people often become. She is afraid she will be alone. Questioning why she left him.

Maybe this is close.
