So I love these headphones, love their amazing detail, clarity, BASSSSS OMG <3, soundstage, etc.

I hate their long coiled cable and they're not pretty.

It's been going on for a while now but the bass distorts at some freqs. so time to change em, I already tried cleaning them and stuff but meh, let's see what else is out there!

Recomendations?

DT 770 80s go for 165$ shipped so I have those for consideration, anything else guys?

Thanks!

Oh I forgot to say that I don't care THAT much about them being open or closed, although closed is preffered, same with looks, not required but greatly appreciated.

Thanks again :)

Did you take the driver out and check for hairs? The dt990 pro is a really competitive headphone. It's tough to get a significant upgrade without spending a bit more money but here are a few places to start.

He-300 - open, bassy, detailed, VAST soundstage
hd600 - open, very neutral, need a powerful amp
mad dogs - closed, neutral, as good as it gets for a closed can I think, not considering the new fostex's
Denon d600 - closed, v-shaped sound sig, not very competitive in the > $300 market but decent for ~ $270

Right now I have the dt770pro80 as my main, love 'em but I'm itching to upgrade as well
