Hey Guys,

are there any sub-$100 AMP/DAC Combos that can somewhat drive a pair of HE-400's?

I have the chance to buy a pair of HE-400's for an amazing price (around $150), and I was wondering if there's any amp/DAC combos out there that could drive it to somewhat decent listening levels, before I can upgrade. Somethign to tide me over for a couple months :D

Thanks for reading!

Schiit Magni (version one is sold new for $80), O2, Fiio E12 are the ones I know. Just amps, but that's probably all you need/can afford for that amount of power. IME, HE-400's get a lot from a good amp, unlike any other can I've tried. Great price, btw!

Thanks! and that's the exact thing I was gonna upgrade too! I've been looking at the magni/modi stack, and I could just buy the modi later? I'm just confused on how I would plug the magni into my computer?

Yup, you can always add a DAC later! Just http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021815&p_id=5598&seq=1&format=2 would work, plug it into whatever your soundcard/motherboard has for output ("line out" is preferable). :D

Yep. Definitely. Magni to start is a great idea

Thanks! I'll upgrade to a DAC when I get some extra cash laying around!
