Comprehensive and detailed.  History of each and every song and album by the "Fab 4."  Breaks down who wrote and played each song and includes analysis by the artists and the people who recorded with them.  Broken down chronologically and includes every song written outside the group by the members of the group during the Beatles era.  If you are into the Beatles this is less slanted than most of the other "Beatle books."

Life of Pi! Heard the ending is not what portrayed in the movie. Looking forward.
Was a great read, I have not seen the movie.

The Horologicon - Mark Forsyth (AKA. The Inky Fool)

Also M.F. has written 'The Etymologicon' both great books, about the origins of words and the structure of the English language, but they are hardly known!
Along the lines of 'Eats, Shoots & Leaves' but more engaging - if you are into this kind of thing, check out the Etymologicon first.
