What book are you reading right now?

I don't know if you guys consider graphic novels to be books, but I just finished Volumes 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead by Kirkman, and they were fantastic. So often it seems like long-running comics get into the habit of stretching out their plots in order to put out more issues and earn more revenue. As a result, their pacing becomes way too damn slow (Dragonball Z style). The Walking Dead, on the other hand, has one of the most cohesive and well-paced plots I've ever seen in a comics series. It's truly fantastic.

Dangerous Memories. My next door neighbor loaned me this book when I was asking him about the Sand Creek Massacre.

Just re-read State Of Fear by Michael Crichton

Also making my way through Dune: The Butlerian Jihad by Brian Herbert (Every time I pick it up, something comes up and I have to put it aside!)

I'm now finally getting around to reading Anna Karenina. After that I might tackle War and Peace, but probably not for long time. The only previous Tolstoy I've read was The Death of Ivan Ilyich ten years ago, and I liked it.

I was trying to read Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson before embarking on Anna Karenina, but I just couldn't stand how Gibson likes to make up sci-fi terminologies and names for devices, but never bother explaining what the hell they are and what they do--as if we should just know the details of his fictional cyberpunk world. I suffered through Neuromancer because I wanted to see for myself what the fuss was all about, but it was really frustrating at times.
