It’s not just America sliding into authoritarianism and losing democracy as dominance is flaunted on others, this is a global phenomenon. Granted the very oligarch billionaires orchestrating these human rights abuses are the ones creating inequality that populations are reining against and voting for more authoritarian control over themselves.
Good luck to us all but as people in Philippines have clearly described their descent into right wing authoritarian rule with horror and pale, the same they say is happening in USA. Good luck to us all.

Correct but Id like to add that the slide began about a century ago.

This doc (also available as book) explains how oligarchy decimates the economy for the average citizen. For example, the enormously powerful and unconstitutional Federal Reserve was created by billionaires (adjusted for inflation) to federally subsidize and bail out banks all the way back in 1913. Average citizens have grown gradually significantly poorer since the 1950s. The corruption and ineptitude also explains how we have the worst health metrics of any 1st world country despite our spending 3x on medical costs…

I read about Jewelry: From Antiquity to the Present" by Clare Phillips. As a diamond collector, I tried jewelry rental https://elgrissydiamonds.com/collections/diamond-rental-collection to experience new pieces without buying. I rented a dazzling diamond ring, which arrived flawless. The process was smooth, affordable, and fun, letting me enjoy luxury temporarily. It’s a fantastic way to complement my hobby! Highly recommend!

As I was perusing foreign publications I used to read often, I found this:

On the Mail&Guardian (S. Africa) an article titled 'The problem of stupidity' April 11th

My guy, provide the link.

“Tariffs Are a Mistake” link
“Tariffs Will Not ____” link
^ Mises.org (subject: economics), details tariffs theoretically as has been understood by economists for centuries
