What are you worth walking around?
Dec 12, 2004 at 11:15 PM Post #46 of 189
Normally just this...

Apple iPod Mini $250
Shure E3c $125

and sometimes add this...

AD8620/8610 MINT amp $75
PocketDock $30
DIY mini-to-mini IC $5
+75 ohm adapter $5
Yakpak Small Flapdoozy $35

So... with my full travel gear, I'd say I'm worth $525.

If you count my very favorite 70-year old handmade pink sapphire earrings, then my worth would probably double.

wordddd
iaudio u2 1gig -250
sony ex71 - 30
$280.00 of audio equipment.

ghetto T721i - 200.00 on ebay when i bought it
swiss army watch - 350.00
diesel denim - 140.00
diesel leather wallet - 60.00
assorted jackets - 100.00
walmart velcro shoes - 8.99

i'd say the jacket with the right sized and placed pocket for a portable is the 2nd most important part. i'd also say that nice clothes are much more important than nice audio equipment on the go ... girls don't care about your gear.

Interesting thread. As soon as one starts sporting a laptop and some audio gear...the price skyrockets. I usually carry an md player, ety's, a mobile amp, my powerbook, some textbooks, my Ti85, my Palm T3 and some odds 'n ends. Too much if you ask me. Usually this is for the entire day...if I'm just headed to work, then I have a palm and my md player + 35's. If to school, the above list completely. I guard my bookbag with my life. It is a large hiking bag that never leaves me, its on me at all times. Too much to lose otherwise.

Prices shown were the going retail prices (as far as I can remember) at time of purchase. MSRP would be higher, today's prices would be lower. Of course, I got the headphones and calculator for cheaper, but meh.

Audio:
iRiver iMP-350 - $150
Sennheiser HD495 - $80

School:
Backpack - $50
Books - $315
HP 49G+ - $150

Clothes:
Shoes - $100
Other - $40
Watch - $40

Total - $925

I travel light. No expensive audio stuff or clothes like all you. :p

ed,
I have the same set up as you, a stainless kimber pro carry, a milt sparks versa max 2 and belt.
too bad the only place I can carry is at the range.
Had a shoulder rig for a CZ75 but it looks too funny on a lil guy like me
Would love a chrome plated browning hi power to go along with the BAD MF wallet.
good price on the kimber too.
