If you like piano, listen to some old Art Tatum recordings, especially the V-Discs.

The V-Discs were a World War II project, there is a writeup here: http://www.chuckthewriter.com/vdisc.htmlHe has been one of the many artists I haven't checked out of any genre. Do you mean Verve?
Probably anything Art Tatum played is worth hearing. He is one of those few pianists who played two totally separate hands. Has to be heard to be believed.
