what are these Bose things? driving me batty as I can't figure what this is

So I picked up this Bose something that has no loose wires looks complete and has no speakers, or where anything else would attach......it's cabled by a 20' rca connection


Have you guys any clue what this thing is?

Judging by the RCA cables, that could be a calibration microphone of some sort. Denon for example uses this for its Audyssey DSP.
 

 
Alpine uses a similar microphone for its processors - mine can automatically fix 512 points on its auto EQ feature, as well as apply time alignment for each seat in front, that way for at least the driver or the passenger (not simultaneously), the sound from all tweeters, midwoofers, and subwoofers arrive at the same time - this allows for a soundstage image akin to a nearfiled system replicated along the dashboard, with the vocals smack in the center, assuming it was properly done (manual fine tuning is also possible).
