In your opinion, what are the most involving and emotional headphones?

From my listening experiences, I'd say my A500s are the most intense out of all of them, they don't really get loud, they just get more intense, they kind of hit a wall as volume is concerned...I think they are the most emotional 'phones I've heard...the second most emotional are definetely the CD780, which are very good, slightly behind the A500, but not much, definetely $20 behind though

A list of what I've listened too (more than just 5 minutes)
HD570
HD580
HD590
A500
CD580
CD780
D66SL
G72
G52
Q55
V700DJ
Cheap 'buds

Heh. I'm going to say the CD3000, but with all the recent crap-threads about it, I'm almost afraid to say anything. ^_^

I find them to be the most involving of what I've heard, especially through my current setup (from what I've heard so far).

A Sony MDR-R10 "system"
I say system, because this headset needs to integrate itself within the whole setup to give its full potential. In fact its sound is so truthful that if something ain't right in the system, you'll know right away......

R10 without a doubt.

While i find them colored, and would certaintly never own them, i do think the R-10's are a very involving set of headphones, more so than anything else i've heard

I actually agree with that, now that I think about it. One minute listening at Hirsch's place sold me on those. The CD3000s are just...much more in my budget. ^_^ And they share some of the CD3000's characteristics.

Iron,

I agree with you that the Grados can be emotional. They're good headphones.

Music,

Right now I find the HD600's the most emotional headphone I've heard. I'll post again in a week's time when I'll have heard a Stax system.

Managed to land a Stax system when you had so many issues getting CD3000s? ^_^ I'd have traded you mine, but you wouldn't get to keep them.
