What are the best fusion Jazz albums (early 70's)

Since the OP is into the funky Headhunters style, I hope it's okay if I deviate slightly from the intent of the thread to recommend Combustication by Medeski, Martin & Wood. It's a late 90's disc, but it's definitely a close Headhunters relation. Wilder, more varied, and the grooves are more mutable... and the sound, while similar in many respects, is less dated. The final track, "Hypnotized", is one of my favorite tracks of all time.

I know it's not early 70's, but I think it's more likely to appeal to a Headhunters-head than are most 70's fusion albums, which almost all had a stronger rock influence or were more "out"/acid. Herbie and MMW are funkier.
