I have a few of those. I even got one from the artist himself. I was supposed to give it to the local radio station. I know it's around here somewhere........................

a good place for gold cut-out CDs is

www.musicforasong.com .

they still have a bunch of mobile fidelity gold CDs for $25 USD.

i just bought a DCC gold disc cut-out for $8!

i've ordered from them before and they're pretty good.

you mean the DCC discs? yes. they're mastered by the famous steve hoffman.

disc quality, however, depends on the master tape. i have chet baker in new york on a DCC gold disc. that one doesn't sound too good.

The DCCs were good in their day, but XRCDs and the domestic K2s(especially for the price) are better for jazz classics imo, for example. I'm just not the biggest fan of the Hoffman sound, some people really like it.
