Hello guys, i'm looking for a good amp/dac for my AKG Q701, i read everywhere FiiO were the best for me but i don't know how to choice one !
My use : headphone on computer only, so i don't need portable headphone amp
what i would like to know is : because the E12, E17 & E18 are portable, are they worst than E10 ? What is K version of these (E10K for example), what is the difference between a normal and a K version ? My budget is good to get all of them, i just want the best for my use. Soo E10, E12, E17 or E18 (even if they're portable) ?

Thank you all in advance !

It might help if you could list some kind of budget?

The FiiO E10K and E17 are DAC/amps, the E12 and E18 are amps only.
The E10 is the older version of the E10K and the E10K is considered an improvement (over the E10).

Another option that I kind of like is to get an Asus Xonar DX sound card (used is fine, $45?) with a FiiO E11K headphone amplifier ($60).
The DX comes a CS4398 DAC chip and Dolby Headphone surround sound, but it's not great for driving headphones.
Where as the FiiO E11K is a great little amplifier and can be plugged straight into the Xonar DX.

I like FiiO products, but there are other options (depending on budget).

You might try reading up and asking here about amplifiers for the Q701.
