budget is like below $200, my choices at the moment are buhringer ms-40, m-audio av40, Alesis M1 or the Akai pro RPM3. need something with good bass though but aint too big of a size.

I´ve upgraded to Audioengine A2, US$200,00 at Amazon, from a 2.1 Edifier M3400.   They are aimed to high fidelity playback, as monitors are supposed to be, so if a recording has a strong bass, it will be surprisingly played (until 65Hz),  but if, as in many jazz recordings, the bass is not so present, I miss the Edifier´s subwoofer, where I could improove the bass according to my taste.  If you like to listen to music at high volumes, this feature of the monitors may not be so evident.

unfortunatly polk audio and Audioengines are no where to be found here so cant get it.

those are my overall choices

High priced ones:

Samson mediaone 4a

Behringer MS40

M-audio av40

Alesis 520 M1 Desktop speakers

lower priced ones:

M-audio AV30 (version 2 or 1)

Akai RPM3

microlab solo6c (out of stock)

Over budget:

Samson mediaone 5a

M-Audio BX5 D2

KRK Rockit 5

the trick is knowing which is more quality than the rest.

the specs for ms40 are great and should give better bass but when i read reviews its mostly av40 being more popular. also aktimates have the same low specs as m-audio yet they are even way more popular. specs dont seem to equal performance or likablity.

Good advice. Stay with the T-amp ( Lepai 2020+ for $20.00 or TP22 for $89.00 or class D switching amp ( Fiio A1) with a pair of small Polk Audio. They will sound louder and as good if not better the AE A2.

Do not make any move laterally since you are not going to get the best sound you want but subtle improvement. Save the $$$, enjoy your system until you can swing for some thing in the same class with the Adam Audio or Neuman.
