We all have our favorite artists. Whether it’s their lyrics, the musicianship, creativity, or a sense of connection with the time and place we are or were in our lives… music can be, and is, a powerful experience. There are many superb recordings that convey through speakers and headphones, but few artists seem to optimize the mix with the headphone listener specifically in mind. What are your favorite “headphone bands”?

Here’s a few of mine to start the list:

Brian Wilson / Beach Boys
Pink Floyd
Brian Eno
Stereolab

Each has a rare sensibility, creating a landscape of sound in the isolated world of the headphone listener.

The flavor of the MOMENT is Tegan and Sara. The usual suspects are Notorious BIG, AC/DC, Fiona Apple, and The Texas Tornado's

I'll second Tegan and Sara. My GF let me borrow their last CD, awesome production job. Very clearly define instruments and vocal, large soundstage and neat separation, at least on my K701's. Also fairly impressive on my ksc75's
