I do most of my listening on my notebook using Winamp/WMP/Shoutcast Radio on an external speaker set and would like to move to an earphone/headphone setup in the near future.
I'd like to know if an IEM like the Westone 3 would be work out great with the notebook HP out or should I go for a full blown closed headphone setup like the Senn HD280 or HD650 with amp?
Also would the addition of a Asus XONAR U1 sound card beef up the current setup?
(I've noticed a couple of threads where people have complained about hissing on the notebook HP out with IEMs like the Westone3)
Btw I listen to Jazz, Rock and Techno most of the time
