100+ Head-Fier
I'm really looking forward to some impressions on the V8 and how it matches with ZMFs specially the Atrium Closed. At that point the Gruve might be in my future too.
This is what is playing right now at the Florida Show. V8 Level II and Headtrip III Level III through a Gruve Level III. Honestly the best tube Headphone sound I have ever experienced. Maybe someone will visit me at the show and post impressions afterwards.I'm really looking forward to some impressions on the V8 and how it matches with ZMFs specially the Atrium Closed. I haven't run the final specs yet as we only just finalized the design 2 weeks ago and I have been on the road for the last 10 days. When I get back I will have my tech run specs and publish them on the website. Whatever the output impedance is it will be the same for both outputs as they are paralleled off of the 6.3mm plug.@The Piper Sorry to ask again, but what’s the output impedance of the V8 OTL? Also, is it the same on both headphone jacks? I appreciate the info!
Getting a few of your amps into Zach's room (ZMF) at shows would generate tremendous word of mouth I think. Even non-ZMF users go in there just to try the plethora of amps he makes available. I'll definitely leave impressions/review once I've gotten to know the V8. If it's anything like the Dragon I heard, it will be a blast. Not being able to spend the many thousands for marketing that my bigger competitors spend annually I can only survive with the assistance of word of mouth.
Zach already has my Milo with LPS and Gruve DAC on his tables. I will sending a V8 his way as soon as I can get one built for him.Getting a few of your amps into Zach's room (ZMF) at shows would generate tremendous word of mouth I think. I bought my Milo AND my Eikon because Zach had the (then) new Eikon and Atticus on it.Getting a few of your amps into Zach's room (ZMF) at shows would generate tremendous word of mouth I think. I was on the road for 19 days travelling to Florida and back. Wasn't able to build any V8s while gone. I have built 4 V8s this week so there should be some impressions starting to come through soon.I was hoping for some more impressions of the new V8 OTL after the Florida audio show, but it’s been radio silence around here. Anybody else get a chance to hear the new amp?
The V8s are unbalanced designs and so the 1/4" plug would be the recommended connection. Is 1/4" or XLR balanced headphone cable, the recommended connection to the Headtrip?
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to hearing from some of these early adopters!I was on the road for 19 days travelling to Florida and back. Wasn't able to build any V8s while gone. I have built 4 V8s this week so there should be some impressions starting to come through soon.
