Today i bought 2 new soldering tips

one Weller ETJ (cost 10E

)
and one no name tip... (cost 3E)

i only wanted to buy one tip and probably the cheap one but my friend
insisted i should take both.

what do you think about this particular weller tip? is it long lasting?
is it the best choice for smds?

how can i tell if it is original? it doesn't say "weller" on it like some other
weller tips!

I think that originality isn't essential. I have what you consider original weller tips, and noname ones and they all last a lifetime. The noname tip you bought is similar to one that i use to solder smds and other stuff. It's all about your hand

I'm using that same tip on a daily basis for maybe a year.

It's excellent for SMD, but not much else. It's having hard time heating any other type joint (you have to cranck the temp or put more solder), and I prefer screwdriver type tips for those. It's pretty strudy considering it's used daily for a year with no damage.
